After trying unsuccessfully to conceive for a year, my husband and I saw a fertility specialist in Nashville. After a number of different, and sometimes painful, exams both my husband and I were diagnosed with infertility. The doctor told us that we had about a 30% chance of getting pregnant. He said he could not explain the causes of my hormonal imbalance responsible for my infertility, but the solution was “to force my body to work” with the use of medication. There was never a discussion about fixing the underlying cause of my infertility.
I heard from a dear friend about NaproTechnology. I met the fertility care practitioner, Mary Vozar, who taught me to use the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. After a month of charting my cycles it was evident that there was a hormonal imbalance, among other things. We arrived at the same conclusion as the first fertility specialist did. However, the difference was that there was no need for the kind of exams he originally used. My charting revealed all the information Mary Vozar and I needed to come to the same conclusions. My Creighton fertility doctor was then able to use my charts to discern the underlying problems. His follow up tests confirmed what my charting revealed. In the process I acquired invaluable knowledge about my body and my cycles that empowered me to play an active role in discovering the problem.
From the very first class Mary always made me feel so accompanied and cared for. She continued to support me with the same empathy and compassion throughout the whole process and the procedures required to correct the causes of the infertility. She even followed up with me during the very moment I learned I was pregnant, and then throughout my pregnancy. Even after giving birth she provided insight and support for me, and through her guidance and using NaproTechnology, I was able to detect and treat a mild case of postpartum depression.
Thanks to the knowledge I gained with the Creighton Model FertilityCare System I was able to recognize when my fertility was corrected because I observed a cycle that looked very healthy. It was, in fact, the time when I got pregnant. Using the Creighton Model FertilityCare System, and by merely observing my ovulation cycle, I was also able to determine my pregnancy. When a home pregnancy test and a blood test confirmed my pregnancy, I was blow away by how accurately I was able to read and understand my body’s cycles. By knowing my menstrual cycle I was able to identify the estimated time of conception of my baby, as well as his eventual time of arrival.
Recently I have begun using the Creighton Model again as a natural family planning method, because my husband and I would like to wait a little bit before getting pregnant a second time.
I could not more highly recommend this method. It changed our lives for good, brought a little miracle into our lives, and empowered me with a commanding understanding of how my body works. Thank you, Mary Vozar, for your loving support and professional, life-changing guidance!

“After twelve years of taking oral contraceptives, I was looking for a natural approach to family planning. Although it varies from person-to-person, I had to grasp that my body would need time to balance out after intentionally altering my hormones for so long. My practitioner encouraged me to be patient, and through her gentle coaching I was able to once again see my body’s clues of fertility. After a few months, the charting pretty much spoke for itself as a natural pattern returned. My confidence with the Creighton Model grew as my cycle took on a more predictable frequency. The take-away is that confidence in the system certainly builds over time, as does an increased understanding of one’s own body.”
